Aniela's 4!

Happy 4th Birthday Aniela!!!

My sweet little angle born at 7 lbs 8 oz the day before Easter. She has brought so much joy and laughter to our lives and we love her more then any thing.

Aniela had a great day. She went to preschool in the morning and had a great time with her friends. After her sister got home we open presents and had cake and ice cream.

And then it was time for the big revel:
She got a Dora convertible.

They spent the rest of the day light driving up and down the driveway.

BBQ Pizza

Here is the super yummy BBQ pizza we made. It was super easy too.

All I did was marinade chicken in Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce for about 24 hours. Then put it in the crock pot for about 2 hours. Shredded the chicken and then put it back in the sauce on low for about 20 mins.

Next I minced garlic and onion and fried it with a little butter and salt.

We used pre made pizza dough sprinkled with mozzarella cheese, added the cooked onion/garlic, then topped it with the BBQ chicken. Cook and enjoy!!!

Taevin 10 months

We reached a lot of mile stones with Taevin this month. Woo Hoo!!
* He learned to clap
* He can get from sitting to prone without falling
* He started waving bye bye
* He started drinking from a sippy cup and feeding himself
* He can say ma ma & da da
* He blows kisses
* He'll pass the ball back and forth
and
* He started Crawling!!!

Here's the video to prove it!

Taevin got his Doc Band this month. This band will help to correct his flat head misshaped head. He will have to have it on 23 hours a day for about 6 months. Isn't he so cute in it!

After a week in his band he got a red spot that won't go away, he won't be back in the band until it does. Since the spot has not faded after a week I took him to the doctor to see what was wrong. She was not sure what it could be. Her guesses were cradle cap or a fungal infection. They did a swap to test for the fungal infection. We should get the result in 2 to 3 weeks. (Not really that helpful)

Here it is. It's a red bump with little flakes of skin.

Taevin is has reached 15 lbs 12 oz. He continues to see the Physical Therapist once a week. The Developmental and Speech Therapists every other week.

He had a hearing check which came back normal. He also saw the ENT. They are still watching his loud breathing and his weak cry. They want to look down his throat but he needs to be sedated for it so they want to wait until his next surgery. As of right now neither of these things are a big concern.

Projects

Here are a few fun projects I did over the past few weeks.

I got together with Lacey and Carli to make little boy ties. They were pretty easy to make and turned out really cute.

I was inspired by Taevin's tie and decided to make the girls matching flower clips for their hair.

Then I made these tie onesies. Inspired by my friend Kelley A who made one for Taevin when he was born. Here is the link: http://thecottagehome.blogspot.com/2011/03/twin-boy-and-girl-onesie-tutorial.html

Lastly I made theses dresses. I just got the material at the store sewed the sides together and added ribbons for the straps. Super easy!

Taevin's 9 month

I'm a little behind on posting but here are a few pictures and his stats at 9 months.

His stats at 9 months are:

Weight: 15 lbs 4 oz (2nd percentile)
Head: 44cm (10th percentile)

Enjoying bath time with his sisters.

Sitting up and playing so well.

Snow Cave 2011

The weather got warm and so before all the snow melted away we decided to make a snow cave. Matt did most the work and made it plenty big enough for us to sit up and lay down in. It was pretty cool!

Thanks Uncle Matt it was lots of fun!!!

Valentine's 2011

For Valentine's Day I made hearts in both mine and Areya's hair. I did Aniela's too but didn't get a picture before she pulled it out.

They were pretty easy to do and didn't take that long either.

Look alike

I found Damian's baby picture the other and was amazed how much Taevin really does look like his daddy.

Congenital Heart Defect Awareness Week

Most people are unaware that Congenital Heart Defects (CHDs)

are the most common birth defect in America, affecting

approximately one in one hundred, or 40,000 newborns each

year. CHDs are responsible for one third of all birth defect-

related deaths and sadly 20 percent of children who make it

through birth will not survive past their first birthday.

Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas filled with the light of Christ and the ones you love.

In preparations for Christmas this year we got family pictures taken for our Christmas cards. (It only took 9 year to get one too) My Grandma also came up from Tennessee to spend Christmas with us.

Christmas Eve we went to the annual home away from home Christmas party. This is when the families of our ward that don't have family close by get together for dinner. This year we got to go to the Goates home. We had a great time and are super sad that they will be moving away in a few weeks time. A big thank you to the Goates family for having us over, we sure are going to miss you guys!

A little later that evening (after Damian got home from work) we had a Polish dinner prepared by Damian's mother. The tradition is to have 12 dishes with no meat. You are suppose to sample a little of each dish. I'm not so brave when it comes to new foods and I stuck to the non Polish food. Matt and Grandma on the other hand got brave a tried most of it. Taevin even tried some new things but ended up getting sick from it and throw up, poor kid. Thank you Babcia (Grandma) and Dziadek (Grandpa) for dinner.

After setting out the milk & cookies for Santa and carrots for the reindeer we headed off to bed. Christmas morning the kids slept in and had to be woke up so that we had time to open presents before Damian had to leave for work. Santa left lots of fun stuff and Grandma Great made the kids some beautiful outfits.

Here are the kids Sunday morning in their matching outfits. Thanks Grandma Great! They look so cute!

After seeing what Santa left it was time to tackle all the presents under the tree and boy were we spoiled this year. Thanks to all the family and friends who gave us gifts this year!

This was Taevin's first Christmas, he didn't really get the concept of ripping the paper but sure enjoyed it once it was off.

Aniela asked Santa for a unicorn this year and was very excited to have gotten one. (don't mind the huge bruise on her head, her and the wall had a small disagreement, looks like the wall won)
Here's Areya showing off her gift from Grandma and Grandpa Deja. They gave the kids some money and let them pick out their own gifts this year. She got a VReader.

We had a great Christmas spending time together watching the kids enjoy their Christmas gifts. We even got to Skype with my parents and one of my brothers back home in Utah. We love you all and really missed you this holiday season!
