October / Halloween 2012

October flew by but we were able to get in a few fun activities before it was over. I took the girls to Six Flags for one last adventure before the end of the season. It was pretty cold so we didn't stay long and we made it out of there just as all the ghouls and monsters started to come out. After seeing some of them the girls were more than happy to be leaving.

Each year we like to carve pumpkins and see what fun designs we can come up with. This year Aunt Amanda told the girls that they saw a box full of 'Special Pumpkins' at the store and bought a few. We had never heard of special pumpkins before but the girls were super excited to see what they were all about. The story goes that a farmer plants a batch of special seeds each year and some time a special pumpkin will grow. They only way to know if you got one is by cutting it open and looking inside. We got 3 pumpkins this year and only one ended up being special. What makes this pumpkin so special? It was filled with candy instead of seeds!!

Taevin wasn't really into the idea of touching the pumpkin guts so we let him paint his pumpkin.

Here are the finished products.

I met up with the crafting ladies and we made these cute door hangers.

This year for Halloween we went to the church for Trunk or Treating and then did a little more in that neighborhood. By the time we were done Taevin was tired and it was getting cold so we called it a night. When we got home Damian was there and the girls ended up talking him into taking them around our neighborhood as well.

Taevin was our little super hero
