Taevin has been having a lot of unexplained symptoms that we have been looking for answers to for the past year. We finally decided to switch his heart care over to a new Cardiologist because every thing kept taking us back to his heart and the one we were seeing continued to tell us that it is not his heart causing these issues. I had to stick with my gut and it was telling me that we needed a second opinion. So we asked around a got a name of a new cardio at the children's hospital in Chicago. (The one we were seeing before was affiliated with them but has his own practice.)
We set up the appointment and ended up really liking the new cardio. She was unable to see part of his heart during the echo so the doctor wanted him to get a CT scan so they had a better look and could give us more definite answers.

They gave him a medicine to help keep him calm and it made him pretty loopy. He was finally relaxed enough and was taken back.
He did great and they were able to get a good picture of his heart. They confirmed that he will need his next open heart surgery to replace his pulmonary conduit (the one they made him during his first surgery) because it is too small for his body (it is donor tissue and does not grow with him) and his left and right branch arteries (leading into his lungs) are very narrow and will need to be fixed as well.
Surgery is scheduled for April 12th.
