Nauvoo Illinois / Matt & Amanda Sealing

At the beginning of June Matt and Amanda were sealed in the Nauvoo Illinois Temple. My parents, Tj, Shaylee and their boy along with some of Amanda's family made the trip over. We meet them down there and all stayed in one of the old houses. (it's next to the shoe shop)   It was a tight squeeze but we all fit. The kids all shares a loft space and were all over the place and each other.

We spent a good part of the first day playing at the park and exploring the town. Oh, and trying to find some where to eat. Most of the places to eat were only open certain hours, which did happen to be when we wanted to eat. And if you're thinking we just should have grabbed some fast food then like us you've never been there. NONE of the regular places to eat. Only local restaurants.

That night we caught one of the shows/plays and was enjoying a dance group from BYU when the rain started, the stage became to slippery, and the rest of the show was canceled.

The next morning was the sealing. Two families from our ward made it down along with a friend, from Utah, and his family. Since Damian and I can't attend the ceremony we played nanny to 8 kids 9 and under. I bet you know who did most of the watching. (oh and don't forget that i'm about 6 months pregnant)

Later we did some exploring and took a few tours. The wagon rides were really neat. (well the one I attended was) I was really hot and humid and poor Taevin just couldn't handle it. So he, Damian and I all skipped out on the second tour and headed back to the house to cool off and catch a little zzzzzz.

The last day we visited a few more of the houses/buildings and then drove to carthage jail. Since it was Sunday they don't run as long and we missed the beginning but we were able to take the tour.

It was neat to learn about so much church history and you could really feel the spirit.
We all drove back up to our house in Ingleside for a few more days of fun.
